CAGE RELOAD

RELOAD PROJECT is a series of musical productions by MORPHOSIS ENSEMBLE, based on selected piano and orchestra concertos from the classical and contemporary repertoire.
The goal is to re-explore this repertoire using some of today’s creative tools, particularly interdisciplinarity: the interplay between instrumental music, electronic music, sound creation, video, lighting, and more.

John Cage was one of the most original, free-spirited, and significant composers of the 20th century. The inventor of the prepared piano, he was a multidisciplinary creator who explored new forms of musical expression. Composer, philosopher, painter, writer, mycologist, libertarian… an artistic figure often difficult to define or confine. Undeniably, Cage remains a figure who still challenges the musical academy today, yet he has been — and continues to be — deeply relevant and influential across disciplines beyond music.

CAGE RELOAD is a musical performance based on John Cage’s concerto for prepared piano and chamber orchestra. It is a concert in which other key works by the American composer also resonate, reimagined by Joan Bagés.
